Q: What is ElyteSport?

A: ElyteSport is a balanced, concentrated formula of electrolytes that supplies essential minerals for the body. ElyteSport supplies 3 of the essential electrolytes needed for optimal health. Calcium (Ca) is the fourth electrolyte, but the reservoir of Ca from recycled bone has always been regarded as sufficient for performance. However, a number of doctors are now adding in extra Ca even when the blood levels of Ca indicate sufficiency. Since ElyteSport does not contain Ca we recommend 800 mg daily which is the RDA for Ca.

Q: What Are ElyteSport's Ingredients?
A: Potassium, sodium, magnesium, chloride, phosphate, bicarbonate, and sulfate in a purified water solution. (The specific amounts are proprietary) There is no sugar or calories in E-Lyte .

Q: Why Are Electrolytes Important?
A: Electrolytes give your body the electrical support necessary for your heart, muscles, and nervous system to work properly. Poor diet, climate, illness, stress, medications and other activities all rob your body of these essential electrolytes; sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, chloride, bicarbonate, phosphorus, and sulfur. Trying to replace electrolytes with sports drinks will generally be unsuccessful as most drinks provide a high concentration of carbohydrates; not electrolytes.

Q: What does "balanced" mean?
A: This is very important. The contents are formulated in a unique balance which is designed to normalize or balance the body electrolytes. Balance means that we must respect the variational needs of the body for each of the electrolytes. You should not focus on any one for a long period of time. We need them all. A good idea is to do a blood chemistry and check the levels of each with your doctor.

Q: How does it compare to Gatorade, PowerAde or other sports drinks?
A: Most sports drinks have a high sugar content, up to 60%. They taste good and can give you a short energy burst as a result of the high fructose. However sugar tends to rob the body of electrolytes. ElyteSport Electrolyte is made from pure water and only the essential electrolytes your body needs to function which naturally "pumps up" your cells increasing performance. Sports drinks do include some electrolytes but in much lower amounts; dramatically lower. For more information, see our comparison chart.

Q: Why does it taste salty?
A: The salty taste is due to the sodium content (174 mg) per serving which is 8% of the RDA for adults. The high potassium (~ 2x sodium) tends to maintain a proper balance since the kidneys are super efficient at dumping excess potassium and conserving sodium. The salty taste will reduce over time and use. However processed foods contain a high level of sodium which is generally more than we usually require. If there are any medical concerns over the sodium content, consult your physician.

Q: How long does a bottle last?
A: There are 66 servings in one 33 oz. bottle; one bottle lasts approx. 30 days, but it certainly varies with frequency and use. Some use it only when training or before bedtime. The author (me) personally premixes it and carries a bottle in the car. Another is on my bed-stand.

Q: Should I be concerned if there is residue at the bottom of bottle?

A: No. E-Lyte is a highly concentrated solution with as much nutrients added that is possible to put in solution. In fact it is so supersaturated that some may fall out with a change in temperature (up to 3%). This does not affect the product. That problem of solution-fallout could be to put less ingredients into the mix. If it were not so supersaturated it would all stay in solution. We really don’t want to do that. It would most likely affect or reduce the benefits. Some users add water to the empty bottles with a bit of residue and pour it on their plants. They seem to love it.

Q: Why can’t I put ElyteSport Concentrate in juice?
A: The body spends a great deal of energy keeping pH balance (all the + and - of chemistry) in good working order principally involving the gut, kidneys and lung. The electrolytes are better assimilated and utilized in liquids and foods like water, milk, soups, stews, mashed potatoes, sauces etc. Fruit juice can carry a strong pH such as orange juice which changes the pH of the electrolyte concentrate and should not be used. The high sugar content precipitates the alkaline minerals out of solution before the body can assimilate and use them.

Q: What is the pH level of ElyteSport Electrolyte?
A: The pH level is 5.5.

A: ElyteSport was designed for athletes & has a higher sodium content for high performance, since athletes tend to use up electrolytes rapidly during intense activity.

Q: What is E-Lyte Electrolyte Concentrate used for?

A: Balanced Electrolyte Concentrate cleans & replenishes the blood by balancing the essential electrolytes, which is vital for proper CNS (central nervous system) & muscular function. Not only balancing, but constantly adding, in cases of fatigue and poor metabolic function, such as muscle cramps in legs and feet. Electrolytes drive all muscle function from the blinking of an eye to the wiggling of a finger.

Q: What are the ingredients in E-Lyte Electrolyte Concentrate?

A: E-Lye Electrolyte Concentrate is a proprietary blend of purified water with 3 macro minerals: potassium, sodium, and magnesium & their chemical partners: phosphate, chloride, bicarbonate, and sulfate.

Q: What kind of purified water is used in E-Lyte Electrolyte Concentrate?

A: The water used in E-Lyte Electrolyte Concentrate is first passed through 2 filters, then through a large GE Reverse Osmoses filter, then another filter, then ultra violet purifier, then a deionizer, and finally another filter. Additionally, there is another filter, as well as a UV filter, just prior to packaging/filling. Water is our business and we are dedicated to providing the very best that is possible to obtain. That is the water that is used for all E-Lyte Electrolytes and BodyBio liquid minerals.

Q: What is the recommended dosage of E-Lyte Electrolyte Concentrate?

A: The recommended dosage of E-Lye Electrolyte Concentrate is ½ an ounce of concentrate to 8 oz. of water, or 8 ounces into 1 gallon of water or milk. Drink an 8 oz. serving 1-2 times daily, or as directed by your physician or HCP.

Q: How long will 1 bottle of E-Lyte Electrolyte Concentrate last?

A: There are 40 servings in one 20 oz. bottle of E-Lyte Electrolyte Concentrate. One bottle makes 2 ½ gallons of finished electrolyte drink. One bottle will last for approximately 20 to 40 days.

Q: What can E-Lyte Electrolyte Concentrate be mixed with?

A: E-Lye Electrolyte Concentrate can be mixed with water or milk. Milk provides Calcium, the last of the important macro electrolytes. You can also pour 2-3 capfuls of concentrate into already cooked soups, broths, stews, or any food you’d normally add salt to. Do not cook with E-Lyte Electrolyte Concentrate, as the heat of cooking tends to reduce the magnesium content. Add it in after cooking.

Q: Can E-Lyte Electrolyte Concentrate be mixed with Gatorade or other Juices? Why / Why Not?

A: Many sports drinks & most fruit juices can carry a strong acid pH, which changes the pH of E-Lyte Electrolyte Concentrate and is best not be used together. The high sugar content precipitates (removes) the alkaline macro minerals out of solution before the body can use them. Plus, it doesn’t seem to taste right. You generally would not salt fruit dinks.
